Huize Triveli

Huize Trivelli (click on it to go to their web for more info) is a restaurant and pattisier with a classic tempoe doloe theme. When we first arrived there, I thought the place is small, but as soon as we stepped in, it's pretty big..

The feelings that I got inside is like I was actually has been transferred to the past. In other words, it's like I was visiting to someone's house that has been passed from generation to generation. The details and decorations are JUST SO AMAZING! For wimpies, you might get scared cause they have a lot of black and white photos, which are quite scary, BUT, coming from my mouth, a person who can't sleep after watching Paranormal Activity 3 (a wimp myself -___-"), Huize Trivelli really fascinates me!

This place is actually new, they moved from their original place. The old place used to belong to a real Dutch-man from time to time. So the history of this place is really WOW. Due to city's development, they have to move to this new place, but..  IT'S STILL GREAT!

You can definitely feel the Dutch influence in this restaurant (it feels more like a house actually). Since I'm a big fan of anything colonial related, I love love LOVE this place.. Let me just show you the pictures..

Even the menu looks so old! Gotta love all the Dutch in the menu. Everything that is written inside has the Dutch translation and of course, with Indonesian Tempoe Doloe spelling

This is the room that we occupied when we visited the place.. I love the shelves on the left side, there are so many books and details inside. There is no free space!

This part is the most beautiful and creepiest part of the house. It's in the left side of the back of the house..

This is the room before ours. It's green and have oriental vibe. Just look at the Shanghai girl's paintings.. Loves it!

The tables outside matches with the theme of the whole place

They even have a broken Ontel bike for decorations

Another antique decoration

I wonder if this thing still works

Who knows that traditional lunch boxes could be used as decorations?

See, there are just no free space no matter where we go. Everything is just so detailed!

EPIC.. This is the back room and you can see this instrument straight after you enter the place

This room is hidden on the right back side of the house. It's quite small but pretty long..

Beautiful, right? Talking bout anggi or the room? Nyahahahaha

Anggi posing in the room we dined in.. Low lightning, I just cannot use nikon for life!

Main room of the restaurant. Pretty, isn't it? No matter how creepy it may look, it still makes my jaw drop everytime I discover something unique.

About the food

It's actually very good! They made everything from scratch. No food preservation inside. I can definitely feel that it's a home dish! Really makes you feel as if you're at home, with a twist of Dutch influence

Macaroni Schotel

Trivelli chicken ragout risoles

Trivelli Bitter Ballen. OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST BITTER BALLEN I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE! When I first took a bite, the ragout fillings sorta burst out and melt inside your mouth. So yummy!

This is what I ordered. I asked the waiter what the favorite is and he said this is their specialty dish. It's beef's tongue and I ordered it without even looking at the other choices.. First bite, speechless.. I just love it so much!

This is Trivelli Chateaubriand aux Champignons. It's basically a beef steak. The sauce is very nice, it really suits the meat. See the fries, they really meant it when they said that everything is home made.

The red one is wedang jahe secang. It warmed me up through out the whole night. The white one is Trivelli Selasih de Coco, but I don't get to taste it. One more thing about the drinks, YOU MUST ORDER THE BIER PLETOK, no matter you want it hot or cold! I originally intend to order the bier pletok, but Denny ordered it first. OH MY GOD! It's so good I can drink a whole jug of it myself!

I really enjoyed dining in Huize Trivelli. Not many restaurant can provide you with a tempoe doloe ambiance. And what I love about the place is the originality of the whole history that they have.

I rate the food for drink for 8.4/10, the place is a 9.5/10. The staffs are very polite and shy, it really makes you feel that they all belong in the past (or am I just too wild?). Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place to you all. It's a great place to eat. You can also have a secret rendezvous here since the place hasn't been quite exposed. In fact, when we went there, we're the only one that were there.. Makes you feel you own the place..
